A: What inspired you to make the decision to get your certification?
K: It was, admittedly, quite a simple decision for me. Yoga is something that has made me happy for many years. I wanted to be able to share it with others in a special way.
A: What surprised you the most about this program?
How transformational it would be. I knew it would have a big impact on the "yoga" part of my life, but that part really just began to transcend into all other parts, too. I get a lot of questions about why I chose to commit so much time to this - particularly as a commuter down to the studio - and my answer is always simple: "Yoga makes me better." I've always known this in a way, but the program has definitely showed me new and unexpected ways in which that is true.
A: What have you learned about yourself?
K: I'm capable.
A:What’s the most impactful piece you have taken away from this program?
K: I don't have to be on the mat to apply any of the many things that yoga has taught me.
A: Any plans on how you might like to use your Yoga Alliance 200hr certification?
K: Beyond teaching classes in Utah when I move there next fall, the details of my yoga future are pretty unclear. One thing is for sure, though... Acroyoga. Lots of acroyoga.
