Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga

Yoga can make moms-to-be feel great, help prepare for birth and help their bodies recover from childbirth.

Prenatal yoga can help to:

* Deepen the connection between you and your baby.

* Gain confidence in your strength and stamina.

* Learn how to practice yoga safely throughout your pregnancy.

* Learn relaxation techniques to relieve anxiety and pain during pregnancy and labor.

Yogini Bliss - Prenatal/Postnatal/Women Only

Whether you preparing for or recovering from giving birth or you simply want to practice with only other women for whatever reason, our Yogini Bliss classes are for you! Come with a girlfriend or by yourself for a class that combines prenatal yoga and gentle postures with an emphasis on the feminine aspects of yoga. Deepen the breath and refresh with yin stretches and restorative postures that will increase circulation, relieve muscle tension and strengthen the pelvic floor. No experience required, all levels welcome.

Note: If you are pregnant, contact your physician/midwife to ensure there are no contraindications regarding yoga practice for you. Suitable for women 12 - 31 weeks along. We recommend that women take it easy the first 12 weeks of their pregnancy and allow their body that time to become accustomed to the changes of pregnancy.

Teachers

Rebekah Deter

Rebekah Deter studied prenatal yoga with Tatjana Eres during her RYT-200 YogaWorks teacher training, where she learned techniques to reduce the discomforts of pregnancy using specific yoga poses, as well as encouraging relaxation and reducing stress and anxiety through breathing and meditation. Rebekah has also studied with renowned prenatal yoga teacher Rhonda Kantor of Chicago's Global Yoga and Wellness Center. Rebekah is a certified yoga teacher through the YogaWorks program at Amara, and a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) with the Yoga Alliance.

Kelsey Bourgeois

Kelsey Bourgeois studied prenatal yoga with Amy Williams during her initial RYT-200 hour training. She has also studied more extensively with prenatal specialist Gygi Koster. Kelsey believes all pregnant women should enjoy the benefits yoga can have in their changing bodies, such as decreased discomfort in a pregnant body, increased breath and pelvic floor awareness and an all around sense of well being in body and spirit. Kelsey is a certified and registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) with the Yoga Alliance and is currently working towards her 500 hr Yoga Alliance certification.
